To
update from MIUI V5 to MIUI 6, please make sure you're using the
Developer ROM. If you're using Stable ROM, please update to Developer
ROM first following this guide
(this guide is for Mi 3, but you can use it as a reference for Mi Pad),
and please remember to flash 4.8.22, the latest MIUI V5 Developer ROM
version for Mi pad.
After making sure you're using the latest Mi Pad developer ROM, you could update to MIUI 6 directly via OTA (find the update in Updater), or download the Recovery ROM here, or download the fastboot ROM here.
Flashing MIUI ROM when Mi Pad is connected to a computer
Download
necessary files, and make sure that your Mi Pad has enough power.
Please note that all user data will be cleared in the process
STEP 1
Download the ROM flashing tools and fastboot ROM pack, unzip after downloading is completed.
Download the ROM flashing tools (size: 27M, dbf1047362ddae8984e7ff13eece0b12)
Please check if the file suffix is ".tgz". Please change it to '.tgz' if it's '.gz'
Operate on Mi Pad. Turn off Mi Pad, press the Volume– key and the Power button at the same time to enter Fastboot mode, then connect Mi Pad to a computer.
STEP 2
Double
click on the zip file after downloading is completed to decompile it.
Open the folder of the ROM pack, and copy its address on the computer.
STEP 3
Decompile
and install the ROM flashing tools after downloading is completed (if
there’s a security prompt, please select Allow).Open MiFlash.exe
and paste the address copied in the last step into the address bar.
Click on the first button to Refresh, and MiFlash will automatically
recognize the phone. Click the downward arrow beside (浏览)Browse, Choose 高级设置 (Advanced), and choose flash_all.bat in the ROM filefor Fastboot脚本. Then click the second button to flash.
Note: The process will clear all user data, please make backup before you flash the ROM.
STEP 4
Wait
until the progress bar on MiFlash is green, which means the ROM is
successfully flashed, and Mi Pad will automatically boot.
